The Brahmaputra’s first river cruise season: luxury on the world’s widest braided river

The Brahmaputra’s first full luxury cruise season is underway: seven nights, two dozen cabins, and a route from Guwahati past the river islands and tea gardens to Majuli and back.

The cruise is a bet that the river — the widest braided river in the world — can carry tourism as well as it carries history.

The operator is working with island villages to supply the market and the stories; the first season is nearly sold out.
