The night bazaar of Haflong: Assam’s hill station trades after dark
Haflong, Assam’s only hill station, has discovered the night: a weekly bazaar along the lake’s edge now runs until late, with food stalls, handicraft tables and live music.
The bazaar grew from a simple observation — tourists arrived, saw the lake, and left. Now they stay for dinner, and increasingly, for the weekend.
Local homestays report full bookings on bazaar nights, and the town council is planning a permanent evening market.
